Our vision and mission at Vikasitha is to share the love of God and bring freedom and new life to the disenfranchised people of India by living out James 1:27: "Religion that is pure and undefiled before God, the Father, is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world."

My parents were from a higher caste Hindu community in the state of Andhra Pradesh, in southeast India. Before meeting each other, they came to know the Lord Jesus Christ and were almost the first converts in our community. Because of their new found faith, they faced numerous problems and persecutions from their parents, relatives and close friends, and together lost much that was dear to them.

By age 18, I had been drawn and dragged far into the world and its lures. My life before and after following Christ is exactly as described by 1 Timothy 1:12–14: "I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has given me strength, that he considered me trustworthy, appointing me to his service. 13 Even though I was once a blasphemer and a persecutor and a violent man, I was shown mercy because I acted in ignorance and unbelief. 14 The grace of our Lord was poured out on me abundantly, along with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus."

In October 1974 at a youth retreat, the Lord Jesus audibly spoke through Lamentations 3:27 and dramatically changed my life. Upon receiving God’s call for ministry, I dedicated my whole life to the Lord. In 1975, I attended Theological seminary in India and on June 12, 1979 I married my wife, Surekha, who shares God’s call for ministry. Since then we have been in service to the Lord full time for 34 years in teaching, Pastoral Ministry, and wherever the Lord calls.  In all these years God has used us in amazing ways to develop different ministries. We are blessed with two daughters who are now married and a son.

In August of 1990, God opened the door for me to attend Talbot Theological Seminary at BIOLA University in California where I graduated with an M.A. (Diversified Major) in 1991. This time enriched my life in many ways through the different studies, building of relationships, and ministries I encountered while in the U.S.

In 2002, we strongly sensed that the Lord was leading us to setup our own (of course, His) ministry. The Lord has brought together talented, dedicated, highly committed, academically qualified, and hard working brothers and sisters in the Lord to work with us as a team here in India.

Our present Vikasitha (Blossom) ministries show the Lord’s visible indication of accepting and honoring our sincere work and hardship for Him for the last 34 years in different Theological Institutions and Church ministries. All the glory goes to the Lord.
